The Therapy Approaches
"Medicine adds days to life. Occupational Therapy adds life to days."
Occupational Therapists are trained in understanding the impact that mental health difficulties can have on effective participation in all aspects of occupational performance – including work roles, parenting roles, social roles and in daily tasks. Knowing what supports and hinders all these important aspects helps to identify what support is needed to enhance a person’s wellbeing.
Improving mental wellbeing is not about curing a set of symptoms – it is about providing the tools and support in overcoming the mental barriers so individuals can participate in all the activities of life that important to them and support their wellbeing in the long-term.
